In-home respite is usually provided for a few hours but can be arranged overnight or longer.

Council home and community services can include general home care, personal care, respite, food services ("Meals on Wheels"), transport, home maintenance, specific home care, social support and leisure services.

R.D.N.S. (Royal District Nursing Service)

RDNS provides healthcare to all people regardless of age, income or ethnic background. The only criteria for admission is that the client must have a genuine need for care, and that these needs are appropriate to the services RDNS can offer.
General and specialised nursing and healthcare is provided to clients with the dual objectives of improving their health status whilst enabling them to enjoy the benefits of remaining at home and thus retaining independence and an active role in their healthcare.
